About

Emily (Ember) Marantz was born at sunrise with the new moon, from the womb of an obstetrician gynecologist and the spark of an epidemiologist & med school professor. Emily has studied and apprenticed with home-birth midwives since 2012, and has provided midwifery care within hospitals as well as freestanding birth centers, including The Farm Midwifery Center.

Emily studied transpersonal psychology at Naropa University, and healing living spaces (self-designed major focused on ecological design and natural building) at Pitzer College. While studying abroad in Nepal in 2012, she became very sick in a way that the hospital could not diagnose. She healed with the support of shamans whom she was brought to and taught by. During a building apprenticeship in Guatemala in 2015, she got sick again and was brought to the midwives and shamans that sent her on her midwifery path. Emily completed her BSN in Holistic Nursing at Quinnipiac University, then worked as a Labor & Delivery and Postpartum Nurse, before completing her Masters in Midwifery.

She then went on to serve within a healthcare ministry in New York, co-taught a midwifery course in Guatemala, and taught Health & Body Literacy (sex ed) class at The Farm School in Tennessee.

Emily served as a Lead Instructor for a forest kindergarten and wilderness school program with Flying Deer Nature Center in NY, and is now delighted to be a Waldorf grades teacher at Susquehanna Waldorf School.

“Em is one of the most unique magicians I have encountered.

She supported me in a time where I had no idea where to turn after a crazy experience I had overseas. I was ushered into Ordeal & Em helped me integrate the experience slowly and methodically over a couple of months.

She was intuitive and able to pick up on (and guide me towards) what my body needed.

She helped me untangle from fear and terror through somatic tracking, meditation, and non-dual inquiry. And she helped me practically with herbal and medical support.

I do not know what I would have done without her at that particular threshold gate.

I highly recommend this adept of the transpersonal, personal & plant spirit domain.” - anonymous
